Young bear cubs are like little live teddy bears. They are cute, mischievous balls of fuzz that love to eat, run, play, wrestle and climb. These three black bear cubs are named, from top to bottom, Janet, Crissy and Jack. Three's Company. Since the moment this trio emerged from the den in spring, Mother Bear has really had her paws full. Keeping these youngsters in line is a full time job! They are a constant source of worry for Mom, who does her best to discipline and protect them with the deepest devotion. (A word of advice: never get between Mother Bear and her cubs. Never)

The cubs' curiosity knows no limits, and this gets them into all sorts of predicaments. When the unruly cubs get out of hand, Mom doesn't "spare the rod" (or the paw as the case may be) Janet, Crissy and Jack have each, at one time or another, received a good swat from Mom. When they really get on her nerves, Mom sends them scurrying up a tree. It isn't long though before the there will come back down and the family will go about business as usual. At least, until trouble -Triple Trouble, that is- starts all over again!

Artists note: One Fall day, as my family and I were bike riding near Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania, my son Bradley found part of a tree root that he thought was rather neat. I thought it was too, and it became the tree that is part of "Triple Trouble"
