I first met Drake, a 4 year old, black English Labrador Retriever, at an outdoor show in Raleigh, North Carolina. This handsome dog has been featured throughout outdoor television, video, and magazines. His trainer, Mike Stewart of Wild Rose Kennels, agreed to let me sculpt a statue of Drake, who was kind enough to model for the statue. I decided to portray the dog in a waterfowl hunt situation, with decoys at his side.
Drake, with patient reserve, looks skyward as he eagerly awaits the incoming ducks.
